1. Island Hopping in Hawaii, United States

I’ve been dreaming of a Hawaiian getaway for quite some time, who hasn’t? While we are dreaming here, why not explore more of Hawaii by island hopping! I’ve read that there are six islands that can be visited and each one has something different to offer… Oahu, Kauai, Big Island, Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. So, I would be crazy to only explore just one, right?

2. Run through the Fields of Lavender in Provence, France

Provence is the southeastern region of France and is cradled by the Mediterranean Sea. Artists like Renoir, Van Gogh, and Picasso were inspired by the beauty of Provence. By the looks of the photos, one can easily see why. When I first saw the photos of what seemed to be endless fields of lavender, I wanted to be there. Doesn’t waking up to freshly made French baked goods, then burning off those calories by running (ahem, frolicking really) through fields of lavender, then lounging on one of the beaches along the French Riviera sound like an amazing way to spend some time? It does to me.

3. Snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia

P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sidney…plays in my head over and over again when I think of going to Australia, haha! Don’t you just love the movie Nemo!? I would absolutely love to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef! I want to find myself mesmerized by the beauty below…tropical fish, coral, maybe even a sea turtle? Scuba sounds adventurous and all, but snorkeling will do just fine (wink, wink). I’d also like to take in a ballet or concert at the famous Sidney Opera House.

4. Visit the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany

Talk about dream destinations! One could easily imagine that they’re royalty as they explore the Neuschwanstein Castle aka the “Sleeping Beauty Castle” in the village of Hohenschwangau, Germany. Construction began on this castle in 1869 and it has over 1 million visitors per year. A visit to this castle will only be the icing on the cake for me because I will be staying in the quaint little town of Bischofsgrun, where my mom spent most of her childhood. I can’t wait!

5. Gaze at the Beauty and Majesty of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, United States

Standing there gazing at one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World must be amazing! Or even better, to take a helicopter ride over the vast rocky terrain of the Grand Canyon…pictures aren’t enough for me, I want to see it for myself.

6. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and Explore San Francisco, California

I’ve started planning a coast to coast road trip ending in California. Although, Las Angeles and other places are on our itinerary, I think I’m the most excited about visiting San Fransisco! I want to drive over the famous Golden Gate Bridge, visit the “painted ladies” (the Victorian row houses that survived the 1906 San Fransisco Earthquake), hop on one of the famous cable cars, pay a visit to Alcatraz Island, and soak up as much of it’s culture as time permits.

7. Explore the Beautiful Island of Santorini, Greece

Greek history and culture with white-washed stone buildings and endless blue hues of the surrounding Aegean Sea, the island of Santorini is a beautiful destination for any visitor to enjoy. Maybe enjoy sailing to another nearby Greek island, like the Mykonos and every other island in between? Santorini is also known for it’s beautiful sunsets. Always dreaming of a sun-drenched elsewhere!

8. Relax at a Resort in Bora Bora

A little bungalow over crystal clear waters all to ourselves, yes please! This French Polynesian Island boasts to be a dream destinations for honeymooners, so I guess I’ll leave the kiddos at home with the grandparents for a getaway to this dreamy spot! Just relaxing and enjoying God’s creation would be the only thing on my agenda…Bora, Bora!

9. Play Tourist in London, England

Double decker tour buses, iconic red phone booths, Big Ben, London Eye, London Bridge, Sherlock Holmes, afternoon tea, all things that come to mind when thinking of a visit to London. I want to play the ultimate tourist. I’ve also heard that even though London can be a bit pricey for visitors, all of their museums are free to explore! I’m excited about not having the typical language barrier when traveling and practicing my English accent. Who doesn’t love an English accent?

10. Go on a South African Safari

To be close to wild animals in their natural habitat in South Africa would definitely be an adventure to take the whole family on! I would love to stay in one of those treehouse lodges. I think it’s called “glamping”…the idea of staying out in nature, but with the comforts of a bed, indoor plumbing, etc.

I can’t wait to see some of these dream destinations become a reality, then to dream up some more! What are some of your dream destinations?

Wow, we practically have the same “bucket list” of places to go and see! All, except for the safari in Africa…you can go there by yourselves, lol! Me and big, predatory animals, um, no thank you;)
It seems as if you’ll be marking some of those places off of your list in the next couple of years though! I can’t wait to go on my next vacation.. I am seriously long overdue for one!

Great minds think alike! Haha, notice the safari was last on my list…trying to be more adventurous;-) I hope to be in a vehicle and with an experienced guide when I check that one off my list! I hope you can go on your next travel adventure very soon! Thanks for reading!!

I’m in love with this list! Your exchange with Joscelyn made me laugh. I too have an African Safari in my bucket list, but I feel like I still need a few more years to be “ready” for that type of adventure. It’s not being out in the Savannah or the animals or the camping out — it’s the bugs. Bugs and I don’t get along! So far, I have done 5, 6, 7 and 9. Each are very much worthy to be on this list!

Haha! Yes, I agree;-) Bugs are a little scary!!

Ohhh!! Santorini (#7) is now top on my list!! I can’t wait:-) I’ll be sure to get some tips from you before I go. Thanks for the lovely comment, Dede!
